Itinerary

  1. DAY 01

Day 01: To the island, snorkeling and waiting for the turtles

    • 14:30

Your guide meets you at Bến Đầm port (or picks you up at your hotel in town) and you board the speedboat to Hòn Bảy Cạnh.
    • Afternoon

The boat stops at a coral spot near the island. Put on a life jacket, mask and snorkel to see the fish and coral.
Check in at the station lodging, shower and rest.
Rangers introduce sea turtles and conservation work on Côn Đảo.
    • Evening

      Dinner on the island.
Wait for the rangers' signal: turtles may come ashore at any time of night, sometimes close to dawn.
Walk quietly on the sand with the rangers and watch from the distance they show you as the turtle digs and lays her eggs.
Overnight on the island with simple facilities.
  2. DAY 02

Day 02: Seeing the hatchlings off, back to town

    • Dawn

If a nest has hatched, help the rangers carry the hatchlings to the water's edge and watch them crawl into the sea.
      Breakfast and pack up.
    • 07:00

Speedboat back to Bến Đầm port and shuttle to your hotel. End of tour.

Be prepared

Important notes

  1. Turtles keep their own schedule

Turtles are wild animals. Most nights in season a turtle comes ashore, but no one can promise the time or that it happens every night.
  2. Light

No flash and no white light on the turtles. Use a red light only when the rangers allow it.
  3. What to wear

Wear your swimsuit for the afternoon snorkel. Bring a towel, dry clothes and a light jacket for the evening.
  4. Sunscreen

Use reef-safe sunscreen (no oxybenzone). Bring insect repellent too.
  5. Phone signal

Signal on the island is weak and power may run only at set hours. Charge your phone and tell your family in advance.

TRUSTED LOCAL OPERATOR

Our promise as a local operator

  1. On the island, in person

Our operations team, boats and guides are all on Côn Đảo, so we control safety and service quality ourselves.

  2. Respect for nature

We guide guests to keep their distance from turtles and wildlife, use no flash and never touch the coral.

  3. Flexible with the weather

When the port authority stops boats because of bad weather, we move your date or refund you clearly.

Questions about Turtle Nesting on Hòn Bảy Cạnh – 2 Days 1 Night

Can I join if I cannot swim?
Yes. You always wear a life jacket when snorkeling, and the guide swims with you. You can also stay on the boat or on the beach.
How far ahead should I book?
Overnight places on the island are limited each night, so book 2–4 weeks ahead, especially in summer.
What if no turtle comes that night?
You still stay on the island, snorkel and hear the rangers talk about turtles. There is no refund for a night without turtles, because nature cannot be scheduled.
What happens if the sea is rough?
When the port authority stops boats from sailing, we move your date or refund you under our weather cancellation policy.
