Journeys in Hòn Bảy Cạnh

Hòn Bảy Cạnh lies east of Côn Sơn island. It is one of the largest islands in the archipelago and part of Côn Đảo National Park. When the sea is calm, speedboats take visitors out from Bến Đầm port.

The island is one of the main sea-turtle nesting sites in Côn Đảo. During the nesting season, roughly April to October, mother turtles come ashore at night; park rangers watch over the nests and release the hatchlings to the sea.

There is a lighthouse on the island. The waters around it have coral reefs, good for snorkeling on calm days.

Landing and staying overnight follow the national park rules: go with a guided group, no bright lights or flash photography when turtles are on the beach, and never touch the turtles or their eggs.
